Release of Liability and Assumption of Risk
I, the undersigned, acknowledge that my participation in the guided camping adventure ("Activity") organized by CP Guided Adventures involves inherent risks, including but not limited to:
Injury from hiking, climbing, swimming, wildlife encounters, or falling objects
Exposure to extreme weather conditions
Risks associated with campfires, cooking, or foodborne illnesses
Getting lost, dehydration, exhaustion, or other health risks
Any other unforeseen risks related to outdoor activities
I voluntarily assume all risks related to my participation in the Activity and understand that CP Guided Adventures, its owners, employees, guides, and affiliates ("CP Guided Adventures") are not responsible for any injury, illness, loss, damage, or death that may occur.
Environmental Protection and Wildlife Compliance
I agree to strictly adhere to all National Park Service and Mojave National Preserve regulations:
No Collection: I will not collect, remove, or disturb any natural or cultural items, including but not limited to plants, flowers, animals, sediment, rocks, fossils, or minerals.
Wildlife Protection: I understand it is illegal to disturb a tortoise or its habitat. This includes handling, moving, possessing, or altering its environment. I will not pursue, touch, feed, or approach any wild animals.
Preservation of Grounds: I will not cut, trim, or move vegetation. I will not disturb soil or mineral matter, including pounding stakes into the ground. I acknowledge that all disturbances will be reported to the National Park Service.
Cultural Heritage: I will not collect, deface, or destroy historic or prehistoric artifacts. I will leave all archaeological structures undisturbed and refrain from taking rubbings or transfers of rock art. If I take pictures of any cultural heritage, I will not geo-tag, add, or mention the location to the photo.
Medical and Emergency Treatment
I certify that I am physically fit and have no medical conditions that would prevent my safe participation in this Activity. In the event of an emergency, I authorize CP Guided Adventures to seek medical treatment on my behalf. I understand that I am responsible for any medical costs incurred.
Personal Responsibility
I agree to follow all safety instructions and guidelines provided by the guides. I understand that failure to comply with safety rules or environmental regulations may result in immediate removal from the Activity without a refund and may lead to legal consequences or fines from federal authorities.
Loss or Theft of Personal Items
I acknowledge that CP Guided Adventures is not responsible for the loss, theft, or damage of any personal belongings brought on the trip.
Release and Indemnification
I hereby release, waive, discharge, and agree not to sue CP Guided Adventures (including its officers and employees) from any and all liability, claims, or actions related to any loss, damage, injury, or death that may occur during the Activity, whether caused by negligence or otherwise. I further agree to indemnify and hold harmless CP Guided Adventures from any claims or expenses arising from my participation.
The undersigned further waives liability of the United States and acknowledges and agrees that the United States and its officers and employees are fully released from any liability for injuries, damages, or losses that the undersigned sustains as a result of or in connection with the undersigned’s participation in this activity.
Photo and Video Release
I grant permission for CP Guided Adventures to use photographs/videos of me for promotional or educational purposes without compensation.
